Join us for a hands-on sourdough workshop designed to take the mystery out of baking with wild yeast. In this 3-hour class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of sourdough—from keeping a healthy starter to mixing, shaping, scoring, and baking your own artisan loaf. We’ll cover essential techniques like stretch-and-folds and bulk fermentation in a relaxed, approachable way. You’ll leave with the confidence (and the dough!) to continue baking at home.

Your instructor, Geneve du Plessis, is the baker behind Uprooted Journey, a Rockwall-based home micro bakery specializing in naturally leavened breads and baked goods. What began as a simple love of sourdough has grown into a local cottage bakery serving the community through weekly orders, markets, and workshops. Geneve is passionate about making sourdough accessible, fun, and rewarding for every baker—whether you’re brand new or looking to deepen your skills.
