From 30 Loaves to 200: A Dream in the Making
When we first began Uprooted Journey, we started small—baking just 2-3 loaves a week, and 30 loaves a market in our home kitchen / oven. Every loaf was made with care, passion, and the desire to share something special with those around us. But what we didn’t fully know at the time was how much this small step would snowball into something bigger than we ever could have imagined.
It wasn’t easy at first. There were long nights, moments of doubt, and times when the journey felt overwhelming. Our oven was small, our equipment limited, and our schedule stretched thin. We were new to the world of small business and micro-bakery life, and there were a lot of challenges along the way. But one thing that never wavered was our faith. From the beginning, we knew that this journey wasn’t just our own—it was a part of a bigger plan.
Our Faith: Trusting in God’s Timing
There were many moments in those early days when we felt unsure about the next step. Should we expand? Should we push further, or stay where we were? And then, in those moments of hesitation, we felt God’s presence guiding us. We leaned into our faith, trusting that He was leading us down the right path.
One of the most pivotal moments came when we decided to move from baking at home to selling at the Rockwall Farmers Market. We were nervous. Would people like our bread? Would we be able to handle the demand? Would this be the right move for our family? But every step of the way, we prayed for guidance. We asked for His strength to persevere and His wisdom to make decisions that would honor Him. And time and time again, we saw Him answer those prayers.
It was nothing short of miraculous how quickly the demand for our bread grew. What started as 30 loaves a market quickly grew to 200, and it didn’t happen because of us. It happened because God blessed our efforts, and He opened doors that we never could have imagined. From the supportive customers who became friends, to the opportunities that presented themselves just when we needed them, we saw His hand in every step of this journey.
A Dream in the Making
As we reflect on this growth—from humble beginnings —it’s hard not to be in awe of how far we’ve come. We know that we didn’t get here on our own. There are so many people who have supported us, cheered us on, and believed in us from the very beginning. But above all, we recognize that the blessings we’ve received are not by our own doing—they are a testament to God’s grace and provision.
It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of everyday life, to measure success by sales numbers or growth goals. But at Uprooted Journey, we remind ourselves daily that this is not just a business—it’s a calling. And every loaf of bread that goes out into the world is a gift, a reminder of the abundance that comes when we trust in God’s plan for our lives.
Gratitude for His Guidance
Looking back on our journey, we are filled with deep gratitude—for the faith that has sustained us, for the community that supports us, and for the opportunities that continue to unfold. As we move forward, we remain committed to putting our trust in God’s timing and His direction. We know that whatever the future holds, we are in His hands.
And as we continue to grow, we carry that faith with us every day—whether it’s in the dough we knead, the loaves we bake, or the relationships we build with our customers. We couldn’t have done this without Him, and for that, we are forever thankful.
Looking Ahead: Bigger Dreams and New Possibilities
While we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, we’re also excited for what’s to come. We believe that the best is yet to be. With God’s guidance, we hope to continue expanding our offerings, reach new customers, and grow our micro-bakery into something even bigger. Whether it’s through new products, special events, or maybe even a brick-and-mortar location, we trust that God’s plan for Uprooted Journey is unfolding beautifully—and we can’t wait to see what He has in store next.
We’ve learned that dreams take time, faith, and patience. And with God leading the way, we know we’re ready for whatever comes next.
